Welcome to the Goshen Band Program

A Tradition of Excellence

The Goshen Band family strives to create a challenging and rewarding experience through high expectations, hard work, compassion, support and friendship.

The Goshen Community Schools band department has long been regarded as one of the most well-rounded band programs in the State of Indiana. The high school band department is comprised of the following ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Crimson Jazz Ensemble, Advanced Crimson Jazz Ensemble, Crimson Marching Band, two Pep Bands, Winter Percussion Ensemble, and multiple Winter Guards. Goshen is one of the few schools in the state to have state finalists in all of these ensembles every year.

The band program at Goshen has a strong community presence and will celebrate 100 years in the 2019-2020 school year.  In that time the Goshen Bands have served thousands of children and has become one the most decorated programs in the Goshen Community Schools.

Students generally begin band in the summer program before their sixth grade year meeting 12 days in the summer to begin learning their instrument. In sixth, seventh, and eighth grade band meets daily as a class.  We also provide students with a number of extra-curricular ensembles such as our middle school jazz ensemble, small chamber ensembles and the opportunity for private lessons.  The middle school bands consistently receive gold ratings at the ISSMA state festival and serve 20-25 percent of Goshen Middle School and is regarded as one of the top middle school band programs in the State of Indiana.

We believe all children can be successful in music and are proud to have a Tradition of Excellence!
